Jazz Game!

For Christmas I got Tyler some tickets to last Saturday's Jazz game against the Timberwolves. Saturday was a really long day, but I'm just glad we made it out alive! Here's why:

Staff Meeting at 8:00 Saturday morning.
Drove to Bountiful. Went to Costco.
Drove to Weber State University. Watched Parker take 3rd place in the 200m.
Drove back to Bountiful.
Got stuck in the snow 3 times.
Decided to get (two) new tires.
Went to the Gateway and dinner at Wing Nutz with Shawn and Mary.
Went to the Jazz game.
Went to Hatch's for some ice cream. Delicious!
Drove home. The weather was much nicer this time around.
Finally went to bed.

It was great to spend some time with family this weekend, we just wish we could've had more time! Now for the exciting part... pictures!!

Had to snag a picture of the two of us together!
Not that this is the greatest picture I've ever taken, I just thought that the Jazz flag looked cool...

I feel like this is fairly self-explanatory...

Cool action shot? Maybe? Of course I would snap the picture as he's falling...

I was trying to get a cool picture... oh well.
Go Jazz!
Anyway... Merry Christmas Tyler! I guess Happy Valentine's Day too, a tire for each of us! Also, just to add some more excitement to this post... check out this video from the snow in Bountiful on Saturday. Be sure to watch it all the way to the end!

Happy Thursday everybody! Wishing you a more relaxing weekend than we had last weekend!

I guess it's about time...

Over the last month, I have had no desire to blog...at all. I just haven't felt like there has been much to say, at all. So, to return from my month-long vacation, I have decided to bring in some little letters!

Dear School/Internships, I would really really love it if I could get everything settled... It is my last semester of college, and I don't have the energy to not have this work out. Seriously though, lets just get this paperwork signed already. Sincerely, the girl who is sick of school.

Dear Christmas Break, Please come back! While it was an exhausting couple of weeks that included A LOT of driving between Bountiful and Sandy, it was fabulous! I'm always on-board with spending lots of time with family. Love, the girl who will never have a "Christmas Break" from school ever again, but mostly just loves being around family and friends.

Dear Criminology textbook, I really would like to read you, really. I have the best intentions, but every time I pick you up, I will read a page or two, and not remember ANYTHING that I have read. I'll keep trying. Thanks for being the rock in this relationship... Sincerely, I'm bored.

Dear Weather, What the heck?! You are confusing. Don't get me wrong, I'm not the biggest lover of snow, I'm just confused. I hope this doesn't mean I'll have snow on my birthday in July. That would be weird. Also, you are making it tricky to train for the Utah Valley Half Marathon. Yep. You are too unpredictable. Just when I start thinking "Sure, I'll go for a run tomorrow..." you surprise me with snow the next morning. I guess that is a valid excuse to get out of my run...thanks for that. Love, the girl who should be training but keeps finding excuses.

Dear Christmas Presents, You are wonderful. The Wii from my parents has been AWESOME, there's nothing quite like watching over 120 episodes of How I Met Your Mother in just a couple of weeks, and beating Super Mario Bros. Wii since we've been back at school has been wonderful too... oops. Also, the trip to Maui from Tyler's parents has given me a vacation to look forward to. Thank you. Love, the girl who is excited to finally play Dr. Mario in Logan.

Dear Parents on Both Sides, Thank you for everything that you do for Tyler and me. We really appreciate it, and are so grateful that we have parents who care as much as you do. Looking forward to seeing you this weekend! Love, Katie

Dear Tyler, I am excited to go to the Jazz game with you on Saturday night! You are the best husband I could ever ask for! You do the dishes, you play Mario with me, and you keep me warm at night, even though I have more blankets on top of me than you do. You're amazing, and I love you. Love, your Sweetie.

Little Letters

I know, I've been really good at doing my little letters on Fridays. Oh well, it doesn't matter, because they are here now! Here we go!

Dear Snow, I have been watching you fall for the last 4 hours (it has felt like longer). You look really pretty, but... I just don't like you very much. You make everything all cold and wet. Plus, I don't want to walk home in you. Please stop. Love, A really cold girl.

Dear School, I'm ready for a break. Too bad we can't just have a full week for Thanksgiving! Only 3 1/2-ish more days and I'll be leaving town! Yippee! Love, A tired college student.

Dear Computer Labs, You are a fabulous job to have! I am happy that I have been able to get so much done today. I just wish you weren't as cold sometimes... Oh well. I've got my coat on. Love, A satisfied employee.

Dear Self, You should eat some ice cream tonight. Love, Self.

Dear Weekend, FINALLY!! Need I say more? Love, Me.

Dear Readers, If it weren't for you, I wouldn't have this blog. Thank you for making me feel like somebody is listening. Love, Katie.

Dear Sandy, Just in case I don't blog tomorrow... Happy Birthday! I wish I was there to celebrate with you! Love ya! Love, Your favorite neice!

Dear Tyler, You are the best. Thank you for keeping me going. Also, I don't know if you remember, but this morning around 4:15 there was a really big gust of wind that woke me up. Thank you for letting me cuddle with you for a minute until I could calm down again. You might have stayed asleep... Either way, thank you. I love you! Love, your Sweetie.

Happy Friday!!

Life... and countdowns!

Life is busy, but life is good. Tyler and I have just been going to school and work, and finding time to spend with our family and our friends. For as busy as things get, or as routine as things get, life is always good.

I was going to give you an update about life, but I started typing and realized that there aren't many updates to give...

This last weekend we went home to spend time with both of our families. It was a great weekend, especially since I got to play with this studly little guy:

On another note...the weather is getting cold, and I'm not quite sure how I feel about it yet. I do love being able to snuggle up in a blanket (and with the hubby) and drink hot chocolate eat ice cream. Oh, probably my favorite thing about winter is being able to use my oven whenever I want. We don't have air conditioning or a swamp cooler in our apartment, so the oven in the summer was just a bad idea...

When Tyler and I were still dating, I had a whiteboard in my room with various countdowns on them. I don't have the whiteboard anymore, but I would like to reinstate the countdown idea! Here we go!

14 days until Thanksgiving break! (maybe it is technically 15, but I consider the start of the break to be on Tuesday because that is the last day of class for the week.)

16 days until Thanksgiving!

31 days until classes are OVER!

38 days until finals week is done!

47 days until Christmas!

I'm typically one of those people who don't talk about Christmas until after Thanksgiving, but it is something I am looking forward to, and something that is taking place in the last few months of 2011, so, I decided to put it up. By the way, if I counted incorrectly, please tell me and I will fix it.

Happy Tuesday everybody!

What events are you most looking forward to?

Little Letters

So, I'm thinking about making my "Little Letters" posts be a weekly thing. What do you all think? Well, here we go...

Dear School, I'm really grateful for the opportunity you are giving me to get an education. I just wish that you gave less homework, and were more fun to go to. Sincerely, the girl suffering from major senioritis.

Dear Kjarinda, Thank you for making the S'mores bars for work yesterday. Best day at work yet! They were delicious. Love, Katie  P.S. What treat should we have next week?

Dear Weather, I do enjoy the changing of seasons, but, will you please warm up again, even if it is just for a little while? I don't like it being 30 degrees outside when I'm walking to class. Love, the girl who is sick of shivering.

Dear Brynne, Do you still want to make Sunday dinner? I sure hope so, because I think that it would be real fun... Let me know. Love, Katie

Dear Dinner, I love you. Just this one time will you be ready when I get home? I don't feel like making anything. Even if I you're not ready at 5:15 when I walk in my door, I will still love you. Love, the girl who doesn't feel like cooking tonight.

Dear 'Little Letters,' For some reason, I used to only do letters to things (except Tyler). I'm switching it up a little bit. Please don't hate me. I like writing letters to people too. Love, the letter-writer.

Dear Tyler, I'm sorry you always get a letter. If you want me to stop, I will. But I just wanted you to know that I am always thinking about you. You're kind of distracting, but I like it! You are amazing. I am the luckiest girl in the WHOLE world. Love, your wife.

A Pretty Picture!

Last night after I got done working in the basement of the library I walked upstairs and saw the coolest thing ever! The sun was setting, and everything just looked golden outside, but that could just be because of how the sun was reflecting off of some buildings. Anyway, I looked up into the sky and saw one of the most beautiful and vibrant rainbows that I had ever seen! My phone camera doesn't quite do it justice, bur that's ok! Take a look!

Wasting time...

It's really so amazing to see what I can waste time doing. Today was the very last day of finals week (hooray!) and I have been sitting in a really quiet lab since 12:30, and I will be here until 5:00. Since I don't have any more homework or tests to study for, I've been sitting here, getting absolutely nothing accomplished. I've decided that it's a good thing though, not having to get anything done. It is so awesome to just sit here and not feel the stress of knowing that something needs to be done, or that I have a project due tomorrow. The peace and quiet has been wonderful for the last 3 1/2 hours, but I am SO ready for my summer to start! I only get a week to play, then school starts again for me. Oh well, that's just life, right?

I can't wait until I can go outside and enjoy the BEAUTIFUL weather!! Well, more like go sit in a car and look at how beautiful it is outside. I'll take it though! It is a great way to start the weekend, and even better, the BEST way to end a semester and start the summer!

Happy weekend everybody!

Oops...

I'm really glad posting every day lasted so long. I really am sorry. I lost all of my motivation to blog. I don't know what happened either, because I was having fun blogging all the time. Then the feeling was just gone. The past week has been pretty fun though! Not looking forward to this week as much... Finals week sucks. However, I think I've got it pretty good -- I only have one final on Thursday and it isn't even comprehensive. I really am just nervous for my husband, the man has a final for his genetics class on Wednesday, and then an organic chemistry final on Friday. Ick.

I'm going to do my best to start posting something everyday again. Just for you.

The weather is finally starting to look better! Yay! I am significantly happier when it is warm and sunny outside. Logan definitely would not be a good place for me to stay for the rest of my life. I just have to keep telling myself that we're only here for two more years. I just hope they go by fast (in two years I will probably regret saying that).

Sorry about all of the rambling. I'm just pretty bored, and these are things that I've been thinking about lately. I've got a good story to tell you later.

Happy Monday!

T.G.I.F.

I am so happy it is Friday! This has been a super long week. Today has been a really long day too though. I've been working since 10:30 this morning. Ugh. Don't get me wrong, it's a fabulous job, but really? Sitting in a computer lab for that long without being able to do homework tends to get a little bit boring and lasts forever.

As for the weekend, we might play some tennis; thank goodness for good weather! I think we're probably just going to take it easy though. Watch some Prison Break. This is the life!

What are your plans for the weekend?

P.S. There was an awards banquet for the JCOM students last night. I may or may not have won an award. If you want to know if I won (and what I won) you will have to convince Tyler to blog about it.

Have a great weekend everybody!

Yucky Weather...

Dear Weather,

I am pleased to inform you that it is now APRIL!! That means you can stop with all of this snow-crap, and give us some good weather! I would really appreciate it if outside didn't look like this:

I would really love to be able to use the new tennis shoes my wonderful husband just got for me.

Many thanks,

A very disappointed Katie

(We can be friends again if you send some sunshine and warm weather our way.)

I failed...

I failed at my own challenge to myself. I failed to post something on the first day of my "post something everyday challenge." I even had the post all planned out for you guys (I'm referring to my few readers). So, I'm going to pretend like it is yesterday.

Welcome to Winter! (I'm pretending like that's the post title)

So here's the deal, I have been wanting it to be Spring since, well, I think January. I need to apologize to all of you, because I am the reason it keeps snowing. Everyday I wish for it to be warm, and just to spite me, the weather sucks. I'll take the blame. It's supposed to warm up on Friday though, I'm crossing my fingers! If it is as warm as weather.com says it's going to be, Tyler and I will go play some tennis. I'll probably beat him too, because I'm really good. Not really. I just started playing last summer. I'm a dork on the court, but that's the way I like it! I can't take it too seriously, if I did, I would never play. I'll keep you updated, maybe a picture will come with Friday's post!

A Trip to the Beach... (Tuesday's REAL blog title)

A trip to the beach would sure be nice. However, the budget of poor, married college students working in computer labs doesn't exactly allow for exotic vacations...or non-exotic vacations for that matter. Since I've been wanting to go to a beach for a while, I set the wallpaper on my phone to a beach picture because I think that's the closest I will be getting to a beach for a while. Poor Katie, I know. I'm really grateful for everything that I do have, but living in Logan, the land of what feels like an eternal winter, really makes it easy to dream of someplace warm that is away from school with no worries.

We are now accepting donations for our exotic vacation fund. Just click here to login with your PayPal account. All donations are greatly appreciated.**

**This "link" is not actually a link to PayPal. This little bit about donations is just Katie trying to be funny (because she thinks she's the only one allowed to be funny).

I hope you have a wonderful day!

P.S. What are you dreaming about?
