The rest of Christmas!

Okay, where did I leave off? Oh, yes, Christmas! Don't worry, this post will be MUCH shorter. Before I start, I just want to say that Tyler took his bike on a test ride yesterday, and judging from his smile when he got back, he really liked it. I think his words were "It's like riding on air!"

Christmas Day was great! We actually got to have a Christmas morning at our own house, and it was lovely. I woke up at 6:00, but managed to wait a whole 45 minutes to wake Tyler up. I did pretty much all of the Christmas shopping this year (Amazon makes it way too easy to order stuff) and I must say, I did pretty good!

Oh, but guess what?? I got a KitchenAid from Tyler's parents!!!!

(Tyler got me a KitchenAid attachment for Christmas that is pretty much the best thing ever!)
I love it! I'm so thankful for families and for all that they do for us, and for their examples. I couldn't ask for better people to spend life with.

Can I just say one more thing? TGIF!!!

The great (early) Christmas surprise!

I hope you all had a fabulous Christmas and New Year's! I know we did! I just want to tell you a Christmas story real quick before I forget...

This year I was just real excited for Christmas! As soon as Thanksgiving was over I was in full-on Christmas mode. Mostly because Tyler's biggest present had already been ordered! (The present is really from my parents, I just picked it out. Thanks Mom and Dad!!) You see, Tyler and I have never really done surprises for each other, so this was a new experience. I'm not good at keeping secrets from him.

Unfortunately, a week before Christmas I realized that I ordered the big present too early, and the 30-day return period would be OVER before Christmas even got here. How could I have not realized this sooner?? I started freaking out... What if he wanted to exchange it? There was only one solution...

EARLY CHRISTMAS PRESENT!!!

I was slightly disappointed because the present didn't make it until Christmas morning, but as soon as it was time to open it I couldn't hardly contain my excitement. All along Tyler thought it was a gift for both of us... He was wrong...

It was a new road bike for him!! (the picture is after we opened it... I don't think I have taken a picture of the actual bike)

Tyler was very surprised, and it just made me so so happy! I will say though, it was quite a relief to not have to keep that secret for the extra week.

I will tell you about the rest of our Christmas VERY soon. 😀

Did you have any fun surprises this year?

A lot of catching up to do!

I was looking through the pictures on our camera, and I realized how many things I have meant to blog about, but I always forgot about it, or else I just didn't feel like getting the camera out to upload some pictures. So, here we go...

For Christmas we got an awesome puzzle with a picture on it from when we were in Cancun! I just wanted to prove that we actually did the puzzle and that it turned out great!

What a wonderful gift idea! Plus, in the middle of winter it reminded me of the warm sun in Mexico.

I also forgot to tell you guys about the awesome cupcakes I made at the beginning of this month! They were inspired from stumbling at work. They didn't turn out as good as I hoped because of some improvising, but they were still really yummy.

Inspired from this Zebra Cake

Just one more thing, then I'll get to a more recent post, and something I'm even more excited about. One of our wedding gifts was an indoor grill! Let me just tell you, it is AMAZING! Take a look:

This grill is great for a winter BBQ when it is just too cold to go outside.

Sorry it took me so long to update you about all of these really exciting things. I'll try to be better about posting when I actually have pictures!

The Past Little While...

Time sure flies when you're having fun! Or else when you're really busy, either way. This past month has been really awesome. Since I haven't posted since before Christmas break, I have a lot of catching up to do. We spent most of the break in Bountiful and Sandy spending time with our families, including a traditional Christmas Eve party with the Landgren family, and a pretty crazy Nerf gun war with my nephew, Payton. We got some awesome gifts from Santa, which include an awesome new camera (hopefully we'll be better at taking pictures), the complete Harry Potter book set, and a wireless internet router for our apartment! Christmas was awesome!

Harry Potter books of our very own! Yes!

Austin wasn't really part of the Nerf gun war, just posing for a pretty cute picture.

Payton loved to taunt Tyler to get a new Nerf war started.

After we headed back up to Logan, we celebrated our six-month anniversary! We didn't do anything super exciting ... we went and saw the new movie "How Do You Know" that has Rheese Witherspoon and Owen Wilson in it -- we both really enjoyed it!

Now back to the nitty-gritty. We started school this last week, and life is super crazy now! Tyler and I are both going to school full-time and working about 15 1/2 hours a week ... at least we don't have kids to add to the mix!

We're both doing well, just trying to keep up with our homework and have fun at the same time! I hope I can convince Tyler to post soon!

Merry Christmas!!

Finals are finally over, and we have some time to relax! It has been awesome to spend time with our family and our friends! We love this time of year! Since we've been so busy, we haven't had time to send out the Christmas card that we, and by "we" I mean I (Katie), made, so I decided to share it with you anyway! Those of you that are the lucky ones will actually get a real copy. I hope you like it!

Sorry this hasn't been the longest post ... since finals are over, we haven't had much to do! We have some fun holiday parties and friend get togethers planned, so we'll have a lot of pictures to post soon!

We hope you have had a great year! Have a VERY Merry Christmas, AND a happy new year!

Christmas is coming!!

So, the last two weeks have been SO busy! I really do mean to post more often, but school and work get in the way. We have done a bunch of fun things recently too, so it all evens out.

First of all, Thanksgiving break could not come soon enough! Thank goodness for the "blizzard" that got USU to close school early, we were able to miss traffic and horrible weather through Sardine Canyon. On Wednesday night we went and saw Harry Potter 7 with Tyler's family. It was everything we hoped it would be. We can't wait until part 2 comes out!On Thanksgiving we were able to spend time with both families -- it was great to see everybody, play games, and get some rest!

This past week of school was rather hectic, Tyler had a chemistry test on Wednesday, and I had a HUGE paper due for one of my least favorite classes. We just need to keep reminding ourselves that in two weeks the semester will be done!

On Saturday we decided to get a Christmas tree! It was so fun being able to put the tree up and to decorate it. Thank goodness for Shopko and a $30, pre-lit tree!

My awesome husband putting the tree up and fluffing up the branches! Don't worry, I helped! At the time I was turning paperclips into ornatment hooks so that we could actually decorate the tree.

Here's the final project (Unless we try and find some more fun ornaments, but I like it how it is)! Tyler is really great at decorating Christmas trees! I finally had him finish off the decorating because his side looked better than mine.

At this time of year, we are both so thankful for our family and for all that they do for us. We sure appreciate our family and friends for their good examples, and hope that everybody will enjoy this holiday season!

P.S. Happy Birthday Linda! We hope you had a great birthday!
