Easter and some other things...

As I mentioned yesterday, we were visiting family for the Easter weekend! I don't know about Tyler, but I had a fabulous time! It was great to spend such a fun holiday with my nephews and to see how excited they were to find the Easter eggs that had been hidden. It reminded me of how magical holidays always were when I was little!

On Sunday, there was a surprise birthday party for my Mom! This year is her, um...29th birthday (again)! Something that should be celebrated, right? I always love being able to spend time with my family, and we were able to enjoy some gorgeous weather too!

Unfortunately, all good weekends have to come to an end, and we have to go back to school... Monday night was just the perfect night at home that I needed. You see, we took Tyler's computer into our room and set it on our headboard, put pillows at the foot of our bed, and ate popcorn while watching Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows PART 2! Oh how I love that movie! Anyways, it was just perfect. When I get home from work, I will re-create the setup, take a picture, and put it on here. Because it was just. that. awesome!

Tuesday was really a great day too! First of all, I cleaned our apartment!!! You guys don't even realize how big of an accomplishment this is. It is amazing to walk into a clean apartment, or even better...a clean bathroom! A clean apartment really can change your mood for the better!

The thing that I'm probably MOST excited about though... we got new pillows yesterday! I must say, it is really nice to have a pillow with some substance again...

Anyway, now that you know what I'm excited about from this week, I'll go now. Hopefully next time I post it will be soon and with a fun little story for you!

Time for another post already!

Time sure does go by quickly between blog posts. I swear I was just on here blogging yesterday, but it was actually a couple of weeks ago! Crazy! Life has just been pretty crazy, as always, and this last week has been extremely long. Tyler had three tests, and I had a ton of papers to write. At least that's how it felt at the beginning of the week. Now that I'm looking back though, the papers weren't that bad, and I would DEFINITELY rather write papers than have to study my guts out for a test. (Okay, I don't study my guts out, it's more like cramming the day before, but what do you expect? It's college!)

This last Monday I got a visit from my mom, Kelli, Payton and Austin! I sure do love spending time with my family. It's just what I needed. Since I go to a university that started out as a college of agriculture, it's only fitting that we have an "Ag Month," right? I thought so. This last week there have been some pretty amazing tractors parked around campus for part of Ag Month, so while my family was here, we decided to walk around campus to show Payton the pretty cool "trackers" (as Tyler would put it). Oh, I also remembered to take my camera with me! Take a look at the pictures!

This last week has been so busy, and I'm so grateful that it is finally the weekend. However, weeks like this one make me realize how blessed I am. I have a wonderful husband, and a great family!

We did it!

The Top of Utah Half Marathon is finally over! I can't even begin to tell you how many times I have wished for this day to just come already! I'm really glad that I did the half, I might not have finished as fast as I wanted, and the weather just made it harder, but I now feel a sense of accomplishment, and that makes it all worth it!

I was lucky enough to do the half with my wonderful mom and mother-in-law, and my good friend Ashley that I just met this last summer in summer school. Somehow I was able to convince all three of these crazies to run this thing with me. Are you ready for some pictures? Okay, here you go.

Like I said, the half marathon was a great experience, and it was aweosme to have something to work towards during the summer. I'm really glad I did the half marathon! At least I think I am...is being sore worth it? Yes, yes it is.

I would also like to say THANK YOU a million-billion times to my awesome husband, Tyler, for being there for me during those three really hard months of training, for being my waterboy on my long runs, for supporting me before, during and after all of my races, and for being there to make me get up in the mornings. Without Tyler, I wouldn't have been able to run 13.1 long miles yesterday, so, thank you Tyler!

I think I will probably stick to the 10k distance for a while. Maybe at sometime in the future I'll do another half...maybe. Anybody want to do one with me?

P.S. Ashley, did you want to make the TOU half a tradition for us? Or do you still want to kill me for dragging you into it?

Legacy Midnight Run!

My mom and I had this brilliant idea...to run in a "Midnight 10k race." I try to blame it on her, but she tries to blame it on me. It doesn't matter who is to blame though, because the race was a success! It was definitely very challenging, and I will say this: my mom totally kicked my butt! You see, the race was a 10k (or 6.2 miles) and it started at 11:00 pm. The goal was to "beat the midnight hour," and we had to wear glow sticks because we were running on an unlit/poorly lit trail. That's okay though. My mom totally rocked the race! She came in at 11:59 pm, I think, and I came in at 12:09 am. I was definitely proud of myself for finishing though, I had only trained for up to 3-4 miles, so almost doubling my longest distance? Yikes! It was awesome though, it was a great way to keep training for the Top of Utah Half Marathon that we are doing at the end of August! Here are some fun pictures from Saturday night!!

I was super happy to be done with the race! At the time, I totally didn't want my face in the picture. Now, I kind of regret it because I messed up a cute picture. Whatever. The hand on my face just shows how exhausted I was. It is hard to run 6.2 miles...even more so in the middle of the night!

After we got home from the race! Notice I'm still wearing my glow-bracelets? They were pretty awesome. Actually, I think I was too tired to take them off!

Running the 10k was a totally awesome experience! Thanks to my mom for running it with me, and a HUGE thanks to my sweet husband Tyler who is my biggest support - being there before the race, and after! He even let me hug him while I was all sweaty and stinky. Now THAT is true love!

Tyler and I finally remembered to take our cameras with us when we had exciting plans! This last weekend we were able to go to the ReAL Salt Lake game on Saturday night, and on Sunday we went to Provo because my dear friend Adri was blessing her baby! It was such a wonderful day, and I'm so excited for her!

I really enjoy spending time with my husband, I really do! I just wish we spent less time in the car though. I will admit, I do love spending time with our families, and the drive from Logan (and back to Logan) is worth it! It's just too bad we haven't spent a weekend in Logan since before Spring semester ended. Crazy, huh?

Did you do anything fun this last weekend?

We're Alive!!

I promise we are still alive, life has just been SUPER insane these past couple of weeks! We've been so lucky to be able to spend time with our families and with each other. Tyler is the only thing keeping me sane during this awful thing that is called summer school. Seriously though, four hours a day is nuts. Luckily I only have 13 school days left and I am DONE...with school for the summer. Then I start my internship. I'm super nervous, but I'm really excited to start! Unfortunately, as soon as I finish school, Tyler will start. Things just can get much "funner" in Logan.

I am going to try super hard to be better at blogging every day again. Promise. By the way, how many of you are actually reading the blog this summer? If you could just click on "follow" so I know who is reading, I would be way more motivated to update this thing.

Happy Monday everyone! I don't particularly love Mondays, however, today is my dad's birthday! It is so exciting to be able to celebrate such a special day! We were able to go to Bountiful to have a special birthday dinner last night! It sure was delicious!

The Past Little While...

Time sure flies when you're having fun! Or else when you're really busy, either way. This past month has been really awesome. Since I haven't posted since before Christmas break, I have a lot of catching up to do. We spent most of the break in Bountiful and Sandy spending time with our families, including a traditional Christmas Eve party with the Landgren family, and a pretty crazy Nerf gun war with my nephew, Payton. We got some awesome gifts from Santa, which include an awesome new camera (hopefully we'll be better at taking pictures), the complete Harry Potter book set, and a wireless internet router for our apartment! Christmas was awesome!

After we headed back up to Logan, we celebrated our six-month anniversary! We didn't do anything super exciting ... we went and saw the new movie "How Do You Know" that has Rheese Witherspoon and Owen Wilson in it -- we both really enjoyed it!

Now back to the nitty-gritty. We started school this last week, and life is super crazy now! Tyler and I are both going to school full-time and working about 15 1/2 hours a week ... at least we don't have kids to add to the mix!

We're both doing well, just trying to keep up with our homework and have fun at the same time! I hope I can convince Tyler to post soon!

Quick Update

I can't believe that it is already the third week of school! I guess time just flies when you're having fun...or something along those lines. Just to follow up, last week I got the job in the computer labs! Thank goodness! I've already worked a couple of times and I think it's pretty fun. It hasn't been too difficult yet. The hardest part was waking up at 6:00 so I could be to an opening shift at 7... the good thing about the opening shift is that it doesn't really get too busy. Anyway, enough about the job, more about what Tyler and I have been up to!

We've pretty much gotten most of our pictures up on our walls! It was really fun to be able to put all of our pictures together and also to see our apartment come to life! If I think about it later I will post some pictures. Last Saturday we also had some of our friends over for a little barbeque! It was really fun to get together with everybody.

On Sunday we actually went to our ward up here in Logan...let's just say that we'll be trying a new one out next time. There were too many babies, and, nobody really likes having church at 1:00 anyway, right?

Yesterday we were able to go pick up our washer! We hooked it up last night only to find out that there was a small leak in one of the hoses. Oh well, that's not bad for a free washer! Thank you Grandma & Grandpa Landgren!

I think that's about it for this week. We're both doing really well, we're just going to school, working, and having fun!

4 Weeks and Counting!!

Welcome to our blog!! I think I'll be able to update it often, I just hope that Tyler and I will have fun things to blog about! Neither of us are very good at taking pictures, but we'll do our best. :) This last month has been the best month ever! Four weeks ago we got married, and we are so thankful for all of the people who helped out and made everything possible...aka thanks to Bruce and Karen, and also to Rob and Linda for opening up their checkbooks!! The day was seriously perfect -- I wouldn't change anything!

We also had a great photographer - Rob Higginson - who took SO many pictures! I was so happy with our pictures, and I would just like to say thank you to him as well!

We've been pretty busy this last month! Tyler's brother Kevin left on his mission to the Philippines (well, to the MTC, then to the Philippines), Tyler and I both had our birthdays, and we are also trying to finish up all of those thank you notes! We also had the opportunity to go boating with my brother and sister-in-law, Shawn and Mary! It was the first time Tyler had been boating in a couple of years, it was fun to watch him on the wakeboard and the ski! I also got up on the wakeboard for my first time too! It was a lot of fun! Thanks Shawn and Mary!

So, here we are one month later, and we are still just as happy as ever! I can't wait for the many fun things we have coming up, but I also can't wait to tell you all about them!
