100.

This just so happens to be my 100th post... to me, it seems like 100 should have been forever ago, but then I realize that I actually only think about things to post about, and these thoughts hardly ever get translated into words, hence my, um... two week absence? Here are some things that I've been meaning to post about...

Spring Break! WooHoo!

  • Spring Break was fantastic. We didn't do anything extravagant, but it was amazing to be able to spend a whole week with each other.
  • On the first day of spring break, we went to the outlets in Park City! I got an awesome new pair of running shorts, and a pair of yoga pants! I'm a happy girl.
  • After I was all shopped-out, we went to the Park City Pizza Co., a delicious little pizza place that we went on our honeymoon. It was as delicious as we remembered.
  • Tyler went snowboarding on Tuesday of spring break, I got a pedicure.
  • We went to two track meets during the week to watch Tyler's brother, Parker, dominate the competition.
  • We said goodnight to our nephew, Payton, and my sister told him to say goodnight to the "Landgrens," so, he did, but it came out as... "Goodnight Green Lanterns." Too funny.
  • We watched A LOT of family movies from when Tyler was a little kid. Now I have even more things to make fun of him for. In a playful, loving way of course.
  • We drove... a lot. We would do almost anything for family.

Other things I've been meaning to tell you about...

  • I ran in a 5k last Saturday. I'm determined to be one of those people that completely loves running [I don't think that will ever happen]. I finished in about 32 minutes, and I'm okay with that. It was my longest run so far this year, and I haven't been running much (I'll regret this when I get even closer to my half marathon in June), so, I felt pretty good about it. I would've done better if I didn't have hills to run up.
  •  I know I've mentioned this before, BUT, I'm graduating in only SIX short weeks. If anybody knows of any public relations - related jobs, let me know. It will be the happiest Cinco de Mayo I have ever had.
  • I've been making more of the Pinterest recipes that I have pinned. I've been meaning to share them all with you, but, I'm just forgetful.

I'm sure there are A LOT of things that I have already forgotten, but, this is a blog, and I have the ability to post from virtually anywhere (via my phone, or from a computer). So, if I think of something SUPER important, I will be sure to post.

We are looking forward to General Conference this weekend! We just need to get through the school week first...

Happy Monday, everybody!!

P.S. Did you know that if you push ctrl + P it automatically posts? I didn't know that. So, there's a cool little fact for you today.

December 11, 2011

3 things that I have learned today...

  1. It is really difficult to get up off the ground gracefully while wearing a skirt and heels.
  2. Playing in nursery makes church go by a lot faster than sitting in Relief Society and Sunday School.
  3. If you do what you are supposed to, like going to church and going the speed limit, you can maybe get all green lights (except for one) all the way from Logan to Brigham City. Maybe that was just luck though...

Monday Happy List!

I know, I know, it's been a few weeks since I've done a happy list. I don't know, maybe you all didn't miss them, but I like doing them since they help me remember how blessed I am...and they remind me to look for the little things in life that can bring so much joy. With that said, let's do this!

Top 6 (Why 6? I don't know.) things that have made me happy lately:
  1. Fall break. Even though it was only one day off of school, I got to spend the long weekend with everybody I love the most!
  2. The Kindle. I really just love reading a good book, and my Kindle makes it even easier because I can just find books online that I want to read!
  3. A new computer battery. Thanks Dad! Now I don't have to be plugged into the wall anytime I want to use my computer!
  4. Spring classes being posted. I'll admit it, I'm a nerd. I LOVE planning my new school schedules. However, I have mixed emotions about planning my last-ever semester schedule. So crazy!
  5. Tyler. He is always on my list. I know he's not a "thing," but I just wouldn't feel right if I didn't include him in my list. He can always make me happy.
  6. Charlie Bit Me. I love re-watching YouTube videos and having them be funny still, even though I already know what's coming up. This last week I watched Charlie Bit me probably about 7 or 8 times, and yes, it was funny every single time!

I hope this makes you laugh as much as it makes me laugh.
Happy Monday!

Monday Happy List!

Here's the deal... I really dislike Mondays. You see, I always seem to drag a little bit. My morning runs become increasingly difficult, and the day just seems to last FOREVER! So, I'm going to start writing Monday happy lists, meaning that I have to write a list of 10 things that have made me happy during my Monday! So, here goes my first Monday Happy List!

  1. It was raining hard when I got up to go for my run, so I got to get back into bed and slept for another hour and a half!
  2. My apartment really cooled off because of the rain.
  3. I get to spend time with Tyler.
  4. The Bachelorette finale is tonight! Is it going to be JP or Ben F.?
  5. I had a delicious hot dog for lunch!
  6. There are Milky Way Rice Krispie treats waiting for me in the fridge at home.
  7. My work shifts have been shortened by 30 minutes, so I only have one more hour to go!
  8. I had a ridiculous dream last night that I can laugh about.
  9. This is Tyler's last week of summer classes!
  10. My legs are still sore from a day at Jordanelle last Saturday! (I sure do love being sore!)
Okay, so maybe this happy list wasn't the most exciting list, but I'm sure I'll get more creative as time goes by! What would be on your Monday happy list?

Our first REAL summer adventure!

Last week I had a fabulous idea! I thought that it would be fun to go up to Bear Lake on Saturday just so we could get away and enjoy the sun! Because I swear, it has only been nice weather in Logan for about two weeks now. Seriously. It turns out, it was a great idea! On Saturday morning Tyler went to a review session for his anatomy class (which was good, because he said that it helped a lot), and I cleaned the entire apartment! I sure do love having a clean apartment! Anyway, once Tyler got home we packed up our things and headed out to the lake!

Here's the breakdown what happened on Saturday...

  • Tyler went to an anatomy review, Katie cleaned the apartment.
  • Tyler and Katie packed things up, got into their swimsuits and went to the car.
  • Ten minutes into the drive, Katie opened up the bag of BBQ Potato Chips.
  • Tyler kept driving.
  • Katie watched the Logan River all the way to the lake. It is AMAZING how much water was rushing by.
  • Katie was also amazed by how high the water was.
  • Katie kept commenting on the water because she had never seen anything like it before.
  • Tyler kept driving. Poor Tyler, has to listen to Katie talk.
  • Oh, Tyler talked while he was driving too.
  • Finally got to Bear Lake.
  • Tried to find a free beach.
  • No luck in finding a free beach, the water was SO high!
  • Went into a paid beach, found a good spot.
  • Enjoyed the sun
  • Got annoyed at the people who decided to hang out 5 feet away from us.
  • Decided to go try out the water.
  • The water was FREEZING!!!
  • Kept walking out into the water. It was funny how cold it was.
  • Decided to get out of the water, dried off.
  • Went to get some lunch at Merlin's. Delicious!
  • Went back to the beach. Some of the annoying people had left.
  • Decided to get back into the freezing water. This time we knew what to expect, so it wasn't as bad. Still freaking cold though.
  • Played Frisbee in the water. Katie is really bad at throwing and catching a frisbee (she eventually got better at it though).
  • Had random kids come watch us play Frisbee. It was really weird.
  • Decided it was time to get out of the water because a bunch of other people had come out with their frisbees, and it got really crowded.
  • Dried off, again.
  • Went to LaBeau's. Tyler got a Peach shake, Katie got a Chocolate Brownie shake. Delicious!
  • Drove home to Logan.
  • Discovered sunburns. Yikes!
  • Ate popsicles.
  • Went to bed.
Sorry, that was a really long list! I didn't intend for it to be quite so lengthy. Since I punished you with that list, I will try and make up for it with some fun pictures from the lake! Enjoy!

See, I told you. The water at the lake was REALLY high! That grassy stuff was super disgusting to walk through.

We are just so cute and in love!

The beach to the right of us looked empty. We didn't want to go down there because it wasn't very close to the car (the sand was REALLY hot) and there weren't many trees around. Bear Lake is so pretty!

Just showing off how cute we are together, again!

I just need to say Thank You to my WONDERFUL husband for making this trip possible! He is always so good to go along with my crazy ideas! Love you Tyler!

What have you done for fun lately?

Things that made me happy today...

Not going for my morning run and sleeping for another hour instead. It was just one of those mornings, and I totally made up for it at the gym tonight, don't worry.

My husband. He is always so supporting, and I would not be able to do my half marathon anything without his encouragement.

Having blueberry waffles and bacon for dinner instead of cooking chicken parmesan. Sometimes the simple things taste the best!

Convincing Tyler to buy me popsicles at Walmart. We called them "essentials."

What made you happy today?

Guilty Pleasures!

  • Getting back into bed in the mornings (however, getting out of bed for a second time in the morning completely STINKS!!)
  •  Watching The Bachelor/Bachelorette
  • Looking at English Bulldog puppies on KSL.
    • They are just real cute! But real expensive too. Plus, I'm not allowed to have a dog yet.
  • Planning vacations that I know I can't afford to go on...
    • But hey, I'm allowed to daydream, right?
  • Eating as much ice cream as I want to!

What are some of your guilty pleasures?

April 11, 2011

School is (in no particular order)...

  • A blessing
  • A curse
  • Stressful
  • Boring
  • Busy
  • Hard
  • Never-ending
  • A great opportunity
  • Expensive
  • Fun
  • Something that really teaches you how to procrastinate but also how to get things done.
Most importantly though... School is almost done for the semester! Good thing I get a week off and then back for some summer classes. Oh well. Only one year left of school, then I have to go into the real world (I don't think I'm excited though)... This is mostly what I'm thinking about today, what are you thinking about?

March 27, 2011

I am Thankful For...

  1. My husband
  2. My family
  3. Weekends
  4. Netflix
  5. Cookies
  6. Ice cream
  7. Coke
  8. AVG Anti-Virus
  9. All of the files on my computer not actually being deleted from the billions of viruses that infected my computer on Thursday night.
  10. My bed/Sleep
